Nova Scotia Loyal Program Launch
On Tuesday July 23, 2024 the Nova Scotia government launched the Nova Scotia Loyal program. An initiative to encourage Nova Scotians to purchase more locally made products as well as a way to highlight and promote locally made Nova Scotian items more easily. The program is a way to encourage more local spending and in return keep more money in the pockets of locals.
The program was launched by the Nova Scotia Minister of Economic Development, MLA for Lunenburg Minister Susan Corkum-Greek along with Ministers Greg Morrow and Colton LeBlanc and colleagues.
The Nova Scotia Loyal program also includes the school voucher program which saw $10 vouchers for local Farmers Markets go out to every school aged child in the province. (If your child doesn't have theirs yet they will be sent out in September as well.).

The funny thing (or ting) is, I'm from Cape Breton. I lived in Brampton, Ontario for a few years and there were so many people that thought I was from Newfoundland. At the time I was a bit insulted but not now. My great grandfather was from northern Newfoundland and his father or grandfather was from Ireland. So I start to understand what's goin on. I'm descended from Irish immigrants in the year 1756. Where they settled in Twillingate, Newfoundland. I of course never thought I had any sort of "accent" but low and behold I do. Living in the Sydney area, or Cape Breton Regional Municipality, of Cape Breton Island, we have I would say 4 distinct accents in our small area. I find that sort of strange for our small area but I guess it stems from older days when we were seperate and more isolated as communities and the accents stuck. We don't tend to talk as fast as Newfoundlanders though I don't tink.

0:45 I have had afternoon tea at the Royal York Hotel a few times. Walking into the Library Bar, one sees the cake stands on the bar, and they look very impressive. However, having things sit out like can cause some staleness, which we noticed. Hopefully, things are different now that they serve their teas in the lobby. Nice video, thanks.

Why does it sound like irish by way of boston lol. The guy from happy goose bay i know sounds more irish. Like all the affectations of an irish accent without the accent itself.

Hello Caitlin, Ive stayed at Africa on Foot seven times which is an indicator of how it satisfies my want for the genuine Africa safari experience. Its not luxury with air con, servants bringing martinis poolside etc. Ive seen the Big Five five times plus a myriad of diurnal and nocturnal animals on my visits. The experiences are "real" Africa not the tourist visit. I have experienced and learned so much of the fauna and flora from the Guides on the morning bush walks and the afternoon and nightime game drives. The staff are special - caring and kind and each of my stays have been extraordinary in their engagement, entertainment and education. After all thats why I travel. FIVE STARS from me!

This information is very misleading. I spent 3 nights on that boat and believe me you won’t be cruising on the Chobe River as you’ve imagined, but will spin around the same daily rout for few hours and return to the same docking station for supper. The Queen has enough tuck boats but only 3 skippers and if you are not happy to squish together with the rest of the VIP guests there are many old books to read available in the chill zone. Very friendly crew and excellent chef are somehow squashed by stingy management and gave me a feeling of being in the army not on a vacation. I won’t be a returning guest. Please do your own research. P.S. The Queen is a Namibian vessel and not allowed in Botswana’s waters so they should fix the address on the website as well! Wish you real African Experience 🙏🏼

I’m from Newfoundland, moved to Ontario over 50 years ago. As soon as I start a conversation people would ask if I’m from Newfoundland. I haven’t lost my accent. My ancestors are from Ireland, Scotland and England United Kingdom.

Nova Scotia pizza is generally dogshit, and little variation from place to place: toppings under a pile of greasy cheese, cloying sweet tomato sauce, luncheon meat pepperoni, heavy and doughy mass, and don't get me started on the gyro meat nonsense. This, however, looks really good, and I think I'll try it out. Also the one in the red and black lumberjack looks like she could be my offspring, which is fine, because I have means.
